Meet Adam Schiff: American Politician and Author
Early Life and Education
Adam Bennett Schiff was born on June 22, 1960, in Framingham, Massachusetts. His father, Edward, was a clothing salesman, while his mother, Sherrill Ann, was a homemaker. Schiff graduated from Harvard College with a degree in government in 1982 and earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1985.
Political Career
Schiff began his political career in 1996 when he was elected to the California State Senate. He served as a State Senator for four years before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1998. Schiff has served in the House of Representatives for over two decades and is currently a senior member of the Intelligence Committee.
Schiff is known for his strong advocacy for human rights and environmental protection. He has also been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump and his administration's policies.
Personal Life
Schiff is married to Eve Schiff, a former prosecutor. The couple has two children. Schiff is Jewish and is a member of the Reform synagogue Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills.
